Since my wife does the shopping, I tend to use some very high end shaving and exfoliating products, and I have to say, they do make a difference, just like with cars.
I personally use Anthony exfoliating wash, Murad Pomagranate face clenser, Murad SPF 15 Pomagranate lotion, The Art of Shaving shave soap with a badger brush, and Anthony SPF 30 for extra protection when out in the sun.

Most of the stuff I use is from the Jack Black(not the actor) line. Their Beard Lube is amazing. I do use a face lotion from Anthony though. Wash, exfoliate(every other day), shave, cooling gel followed by the moisturizer. It makes a huge difference and my face is always soft and rarely irritated.

a good badger brush and some shaving soap. followed up with some Klasse SG as my LSP to properly seal in my pores :lol:
My list of shaving soaps and creams almost rivals my list of polishes/sealants/waxes/soaps etc. One of my shave creams is the unscented AoS cream. Good stuff. KMF creams (USA), VDH soap(Texas!). Pre de Provence soap (France) Poraso cream(Italy) Tabac (Germany) and Mitchell's Wool Fat (UK) are two of my newer shave soaps. Add Musgo Real (Portugal) bath soap and I'm an international man. :rofl
Dickinson's witch hazel for an after shave astringent, followed by an after-shave splashes and balms. I've got two fist fulls of those too.
Face soap in the shower, I've been using one of Nivea's unscented soaps. Out of the shower, Cetaphil (Wife's choice).
