This is a 1996 Ferrari 348 Spider that I regularly clean. About 6 weeks ago, he just wanted a quick wax, so I used Vanilla Moose since it has light abrasives and wax in it. Today, I he just wanted it washed and the VM was holding up very well with good beading and still slick to the touch (he drives it 2-3 times a week and it had obviously been driven in the rain), so I after I QEW washed it (and I was able to leave the top down), I went over it with Quikshine....and it looked freshly waxed!

This is a 1998 Mercedes CL 500 that I used to wax regularly, but the owner has been having some maritial problems so he normally just has me wash it every 3rd week at his office. Problems seem to be over because he wanted me out at his house to wax the Benz. I had last waxed it in June, but the paint was still in decent shape, so I polished with Vanilla Moose and waxed with Carnauba Moose.

Now on to a 1998 Explorer Sport. The owner usually has me out once a year to detail it, and last time I was out was in March, so it had been a good 7 months since I had waxed it but she washes it regularly so the paint still looks decent. She wanted me just to detail the outside (the interior was still immaculate) since she was moving out of the area and wanted me to wax it one last time.

This is how it looked after washing it with QEW:

As you can see, it still looked pretty good, even though it was only beading on the sides when I washed it.

This is after polishing with Vanilla Moose and waxing with Carnauba Moose:

And the finished product, after QDing with Quikshine and dressing the fenderwells and tires:

Edit: Oops! Used the before pic twice!

Looks great Scott.. I am really thinking of trying some VM. Do you think VM is more abrasive or works better than SEPC???

They look great. After your testing of Winners Choice products, why aren't you useing those?

Because I am out of them and haven't reordered yet. Definitely need to get more the Polymer Finishing Creme. It's kind of a pain to have to order products when I can buy Clearkote and Meguiars products locally.

I think it is slightly more abrasive, but both products are more of a final glaze prior to waxing than something to remove anything more than light defects.

I prefer Vanilla Moose to SEC, looks a little deeper to me.

Hi Scott, I going to be in Houston and Beaumont sometime in January, how far is it to Arlington.

About 240 miles one way. Usually takes me about 3.5-5 hours to get down to Houston, mostly depending on traffic when I hit Conroe (about 15 miles north of Houston) because sometimes traffic going into Houston is backed up that far.

Scott, just send me an email, I'll make it easy..... :D

:lol I do need some of the Finishing Creme. I regularly clean a black 2001 S500 that seems to eat carnauba based waxes. For some reason, it only ends up beading 3-4 weeks no matter what I have used on it. His wife's 2002 black BMW X5 beads a full three months using the same wax. Even his neighbor, who has a 2002 S55 that is also black and I take care of each week too and it will bead 8-12 weeks with carnaubas. For some reason, wax just doesn't seem to last long on this guy's car and I think I'm the only one who washes it.

Hopefully a polymer will last longer....even though he doesn't seem to care. A few weeks ago, I watched him set several ceramic coffee mugs on his trunk lid then drag them off it a few minutes later. He has ruined the paint on the trunk lid as it is setting stuff (like his briefcase) on it and dragging it off....despite me mentioning it to him several times how badly it was scratching the paint. Oh well, his car. :nixweiss

And I take it the actual performance of it is why you continue to use it, right? ;)

No, it's a wonderful decorative item in my box of supplies!:D

Seriously...of course I use it because of it's performance! You wasn't implying $%#^ sniffing were you?:nono I respect serious detailer's and I am humble enough to search, learn, discover, and experiment with new ideas, techniques, and products brought to my attention by serious detailer's. :xyxthumbs
