Yellow Page Ads

Its time for me to renew my yellow page and I am not sure if I want to. It has never paid for its self and all I get is shoppers. I feel at time it’s just a statistics symbol to have your business ad group with your competitor. Any thoughts about this?

even though this is repeating what's been said already... it's true, you made the decision in the post itself... "It has never paid for itself"

that's your answer :)

I dropped my ad and just stuck with a listing severral years ago, and still get 6% of my new business from the yellow pages. I was paying $750 a year for a 3 line ad above and beyond what I pay for a business line (that includes a listing in the automotive detailing section and the business white pages) and was getting no extra business from it.

Make sure you do keep a listing though in case some of your customers lose your number.

I been paying $1,200 year for my yellow page ad and after reading all the repys I think I'll be saving me some money next year ;).

I agree with Scottwax, be sure you keep the listing that is included in the price of your biz phone line.

If I use the yellow pages at all when looking for something I look at the regular listings. I figure that the ads are really high priced so anyone who buys a big ad is probably charging too much for their service in order to pay for the ad.

I use a cell phone as my business phone and so they charge me for every little thing.

How much is a one line listing? I find that the biz I get from my one-liner about equals the cost of my biz line.

I think a listing is about $25.00 maybe even less and a listing in the white pages is about $12.00.
