Yellow Page Ad

Has anyone that owns a business put an ad in the yellow pages?

If so were you successful with it? Did you have better success with a large ad or just a small Bold Listing ad. How many calls a day or week do you get from it and how much is it costing you?

I am obviously about to put an ad in the yellow pages and I am trying to figure out what I can do. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I had a 3 line bold listing for a while. It worked great in helping me build my customer base but eventually I didn't really need it since I am one of the very few mobile detailers in my area. Since my business name makes it very clear I am mobile, those looking for one can easily find me.

In the early days, I got 15-20% of my business from my little ad but after a few years, it dropped to about 6% where it has remained, even after switching to a simple listing.

Definitely worth it, but evaluate its effectiveness every year or two, eventually you may not need it.

I filled out the thing on superpages and I'm going to submit an ad in the yellow pages today. Not cheap so I hope it works. Thanks.

I take my free listing in the phone book and thats it. The yellow pages do not work. 99% of the time someone is looking for a detailer they will ask a friend if they know of someone with a good reputation.
