I finally had some free time and was able to clean off over a month's worth of crud from the Screaming Banana.

I decided that if our Asian friends are brave enough to try Scratch-X by rotary, then I should be able to get away with using Color-X. Sooo, using a finishing pad at about 1300 rpms I applied the first of the three "Xs" to the car. There was no gumming of the product, although the 'water separating from the product' phenomenon was pronounced. The Color-X spread smoothly and evenly just like you would expect it to at medium PC speeds. I worked it in until it was just a light haze, then buffed of with a microfiber.

No surprise here, the paint was clean, glossy and the richness of the color was there. The second "X" in the series was the NXT Tech Wax. Two light coats applied an hour apart by PC and the finish was :bigups :bigups

The windows were cleaned with the NXT (not the 3rd "X" ;) ) Glass Cleaner. the interior vinyl was coated with Dash & Trim FOAM as were the tires (paintbrush applied).

The final touch was topcoating the windows with Rain-X (there's that third one). I think the NXT Glass cleaner actually lets the Rain-X bond better to the glass?

I DID take pics, but the camera and the PC aren't talking at the moment so it will be a day or so before I can upload them
:(

P.S. OF COURSE as soon as I took the last of the pics, it started raining AGAIN

The pics of the wheels show the real look of the paint better than the hood shot, the lighting was pretty bad since the clouds were moving in fast.

The interior after cleaning and treating with Dash & Trim Foam. The glare is only in the pics.

Don,

The Screaming Banana looks great! However, to be honest, based on the title of the thread... I was expecting something better! :lmfao

Yeah Yeah, OK DON, you caught my attention too. Anyway, as long as I was here, thought I'd chime in.

The banana looks great! I think the wheels really compliment the car and the tires are shined to perfection. I bet it goes about 10 MPH faster now that she's all shiny huh?
