x-code on fabric?

Nobody? Not any of you "hard core" detailers have DI or Rev.Osmosis water delivered for your home car washing needs?

I have a customer who has a water dionizer and a 4000 psi pressure sprayer at his warehouse so I can clean his bus quickly and without having to dry it off.

My feeble understanding of it is that it's water in which the dissolved hard minerals, which are positively and negatively charged ions, like Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, are removed by running the water through a filter. This filter exposes the water through a negative ion filter (via positively charged rocks) and then a positive ion filter (which has a negatively charged rocks), or vice-versa. This process removes the dissolved hard minerals.

Sorry about the extremely crude explanation. Someone tell me if I'm wrong anywhere.

Benefits? After rinsing, there is no need to dry. The water will just evaporate like normal, but won't leave any water spots.

Ummh. Distilling removes all solids. Reverse osmosis does, too. I am not sure about deionization . . . I dont' think it does, but I don't assert this 100%

Deionizing doesn't really remove solids. Dissolved minerals exists as ions and can be removed through ion exchange resins. Any solid precipitates are not necessarily "filtered" out. Also, there is a wide range when it comes to deionization.

I believe you measure the conductivity of the water to see how well the process worked..which is measured in microhms. The lower the conductivity the better but I dont think anything gets below the 10 microhm level.

This information is from what I remember learning in school, so take it FWIW!!!

Not trying to be a smart so-and-so :o but water conductivity is measured in micromhos. Mhos being the reciprocal of ohms. Ohms being the measure of resistance (to conductivity). This concludes today's lesson. :D

Titus: Actually it is measured either way...microhms or micromhos. Kinda like looking at the glass as being half full of DI water or half empty of DI water!! :D

You can also buy it from a purified water place... look under "water/bottled and bulk." I found two places that sell water for $0.25 a gallon. The water is drinking water and no/very little hardness.

You can also buy reverse osmosis bottles/system to use pretty affordably for small use, or you can wire up your home for 1-2 grand.

Yell00ITR:
If the truth be known, I just measure it by the gallon.;)

I was told some seat cloth should only be brushed not sprayed with anything. Maybe someone pulling my leg?? Thanks for getting back to me.

I don't know anything about this. I have never heard of an X-code either.
Also, just like Flash I want 1/5 of a ticket:thumbup:
