Write ups offline to upload. Todd?

I've been wanting to get some write ups done. My time is limited online on the computer. I'm having horrible upload times due to damage to the line between house and pole underground.
This has been a multi year battle with the phone company. All lines have been replaced at house. New modems and wifi + computers.
Is there a program or format to prepare a write up with pics offline when I have down time to upload? I tried doing a write up tonight on site and at the last two pics closed and not minimized a window and lost everything. It's frustrating because it took 2hrs and 45 min to upload 27 pics to photobucket.
With verbage for write up I can't spend over 3hrs on a write up.
Thanks.

John,

I created my review template and layout in Microsoft Word. I type everything up using the template and tags for lists, indentation, image tags and so on. Then when it is complete I copy and paste it into the new thread editor. If I need to do any minor tweaking, I make the changes and then save it in my word document as well. So I have it for use later or on other sites.

As Troy suggested, you can create a general template and save it as a word document.

Another way to help expedite the process is to upload the images to a host like imgur.com, and you can directly copy the BBCode text to paste it as an inserted image like so: (IMG)http://www.imgur.com/asdklajds9(/img) (except using brackets instead of parentheses).

So, the only time you'd need to be actually online and using your internet while preparing the write up is when you're uploading the pictures, and submitting the write up. You could do the write up one night, save it to your computer, and then upload the images whenever you have the time, they'll be saved permanently to your imgur album (if you sign up for an account) and then you can easily copy the direct link of the image and paste it into the tags.

Thanks Troy. I'm up for anything. Would like to post things more but I am pressed at home with a new baby. At work there have been times (not much) waiting for clients etc. where I can work on something.

I do most of my writeups in a word format and copy the image links directly from my image hosting site. :bigups

Thanks I have done the verbage in Word but never tried the image links. I assume when you save it. They will be "live" once uploaded to the forum?

If they're already uploaded to a hosting site, and you have the BBCode tags around their URLs, then yes, as soon as you post the write up, the images will be live.
