Hi all, I am new to this forum and I am glad to see it here. I used to own a high end detail shop in the midwest. Of course, I used to use several different polishes, but the "go to" for the basic car was BC-2. Although I have not picked up a buffer to polish a car in over 10 years, I am now in the business of polishing natural stone with diamonds(very challenging).
OK, so I have just bought an ambulance that has already been wrapped I have removed the lettering and the actual wrap is in great shape, but obviously has some "halo" effect. Since I have been out of the business for a long time and wraps were just barely around when I was professionally detailing, I thought I would ask you pros here to give me some feedback on the process that I was thinking of using.
Remove lettering
Use acetone to remove any left over adhesive (not much, considering). open for other suggestions that may be more wrap friendly but still effective
Back in the day, I would wet sand and polish with a wool pad to remove the "halo", but I think it would just be too aggressive for a sticker that large. I was thinking of using a yellow foam pad and some BC-2 (Auto Majic) to remove/ lessen the halo effect.
Please let me know you opinions and how you might procede if you were in my shoes.
Thanks a bunch
Tommy C
