WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW! Pinnacle Souveran!

I traded some of my Meguiars Hand Polish, #26 and Quikshine (made by Clearkote) for a nearly full container of Pinnacle Souveran, which arrived today.

My car is well maintained (obviously, as a detailer with a sign for my business on my car, I try to keep it looking it's best), so all I had to do was dust it and QD it before using Souveran. No need to polish or clay, the paint is extemely slick.

I did about a 1/3rd of the car at a time, them buffed off the excess. I was someone astounded to see there was a noticable difference, since it already had a great shine-paint looked incredibly wet and rich looking-almost like the surface was liquid. I went ahead and put on another coat, covering the entire car, then buffing off the excess and the shine looked even deeper.

I have a burgandy SL500 to detail tomorrow. I waxed it with Pinnacle Paste Glaz the last time, and he was very pleased with the results (he has me wax it every 6-8 weeks or so), and since Souveran is meant for reds and blacks, it should look even better.

I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

BTW, I was finishing up my car, and my neighbor came out and simply said, "Your car looks awesome."

 AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH! $@%$@%$@%

Figures. A light shower must have gone by while I was eating dinner, and there is still live oak pollen in the air, so now I have all this little spots all over the top of my car. Now I have to go out and QD it.

so scott, are you telling me that i really need to break down and try out souveran? or can i just wait 'til the next concours or auto show? durability is an issue for my customer's cars - not sealant type but something more than 2 weeks.:nixweiss

I don't know how I lived without Souveran. As far as durability goes, I'd say it will last at least a month. I washed my wife's car yesterday and the one layer of Souveran that I applied on March 26 was still beading. It has been through one hell of a sand storm on monday and 3 days of really weird weather. Its been raining and snowing and hailing ALL IN THE SAME DAY! I think that that car has been through every weather extreme in the last week that a car can go through. We saw 80 degrees on Monday and 20 degrees last night. I think that Souveran holds up pretty well IMO. We'll see in another 3 weeks how well it does.

edit: psst! Its still $49.99 a can here if you are looking for some. It is worth every cent of $70 but if you can get it for a little less then I say do it. Might as well take advantage of it before it goes bye bye.

I recommend the Souveran. A great wax.

:bow Souveran

I am 100% sure the Souveran will last more than 2 weeks on a car. I got it to last close to 2 months on a garage queen.

The Souveran may be expensive upfront ($70 a can) but you get so many applications per can (average 30-40) for about $2 per application. Thats about the price for half a cup of coffee (Starbucks $4 for a double latte.)

I used Pinnacle Paste Glaz on a customer's black Ford Excursion nearly two months ago, and when I washed it on Monday, it was still beading very nicely and the paint still felt slick-and he has a 40 miles commute each way, and it has rained every weekend for about 4 weeks now. His truck also sits in the sun from 10 am on when at his office.

What you might want to try is Meguiars #20 or Klasse and then top with Souveran-you can probably get another $20 or so per wax job, maybe even more. Hey, if someone is willing to spend $100,000+ on a car, they tend to be willing to spend the $$$ to keep it perfect.

That one is safe. Pinnacle knows about them already. I checked. :xyxthumbs I support CMA 100% but when you can save that much on a product then I have no choice but to spread the word. Shop at CMA every chance you get... but don't be stupid. Being an informed buyer is my policy.

The website shows the price at $68.99 now . . . :nixweiss

Hey Tort,

The $68.99 price you see is for the full detail kit that's about $100 from CMA. If you go to their Pinnacle products page you will see their pricing on everything else.

Interesting markup on these products. . .

Anyone in one of our "warmer" climates have any Souveran experience? I'm dying to use it as a topper over BF, but I'm very worried about durability when the temp starts creeping into the high 90's for weeks at a time.

Anyone? :nixweiss

It's been well into the 80's now in Dallas, and that black Excursion is holding up well. I wax it about every 8-10 weeks and prior to waxing it with Paste Glaz, I had used Meguiars #26.

I love Pinnacle Souvervan. I have been using in on my show car (Red 300ZX) and the shine just amazes me. I wish I would have found this stuff along time ago.:up

I think I am going to have to break down and drop errr invest 50 into a can of wax. If a detailer, who already has really clean cars on his site, and has a really glossy daily driver, is that impressed by it, it must be really good. Thanks for the Review Scott. :xyxthumbs

Scottwax,

Hey, I'm glad you like the Souveran. You are almost making me regret parting with it! lol

I'm going to go with the Glaze & the #26 you sent me. I'll alternate between Blitz & #26 and top all of that off with P21S carnauba wax.

I just ordered Top of the Lines "trade secret" wax, which is supposed to rival Souveran, is made by Pinnacle and uses a lot of the same formula. I'll post a review once I use it, hopefully on a Black Porsche next weekend.

Since I've never used Souveran, I can't directly compare... but hopefully I'll give you a good idea.

I am really interested to see how that goes Josiah. I've always wondered about that wax. Keep us posted. :up

I had a Mercedes SL500 to wash and wax and his wife's C280 to wash today. He wanted me to use the Souveran on his SL, and after I finished, he came out and looked and so did his wife. As soon as she saw his car, she looked at me and said, "I want you to use that on mine also." I asked if she said meant today, and she said yes.

I had already washed and dried her car, so I got to work on it (it is dark green) and when I was done, she came out and kept looking at it and touching the paint and saying how slick it was. She was amazed I could make her 7 year old Mercedes shine better than new (considering it has on 27,000 miles on it and is garaged all the time makes my job easier!).

Ended up making $120 instead of $90!:up

I've used Souveran on top of Blackfire, PPCL, and 3M IHG. Always looks great.

This was on a black Infiniti and a dark green Saab. And living in Atlanta.

Souveran didn't hold up well to the harsh Blackfire shampoo but it did work well with Meguiar's #00 wash and of course Pinnacle's own shampoo. If I were going back to Souveran/glaze combo I'd use either Pinnacle's wash or P21S.

I would love to try One Grand Omega Glaze and Souveran on a black car, just for grins.
