Would food coloring stain carpet and upholstery?

I'm looking to buy 15-20 identical bottles (good ones with filters on the bottom of the feed straw) and label them. But in addition, most of the chemicals I use are clear. I would like to color them to easily tell them apart. Would food coloring dye the surfaces and items I spray it on if I mix it into the chemicals? And will then effect the way the chemicals work at all?



This may be a dumb question but I wasn't sure.... figured I'd ask the pros.

Look at US plastics. I have about 15 of their bottles, identical, with sprayers with filters on the ends as well.



And do not add food coloring to your chemicals. Label the bottles, if you have to, get the different colors of electrical/duct tape and make a ring around the bottle with your color of choice. And then label it again :)
 
Food most coloring will 'stain' although its doubful they would adversly affect most chemicals ...a label maker is a much better solution
 
Food coloring will definitely stain carpets, seats and mats. In fact I had a large red food stain in a Toyota Camry this week. The food coloring was added to a vase of water with flowers and it permanently dyed the carpet and mats. None of our traditional stain removers could take the stain out and re-dyeing was not an option so the carpets and mats had to be replaced.

The only product I've ever used (and I've tried quite a few) to remove red food dye / coloring is TOTL "Stain Blaster" red stain remover it's formulation removes super tough red stains on carpet and fabric upholstery.

It is possible to bleach out the stain and re-dye but since the customer was selling the vehicle and could have the carpet replaced at very little cost to her...replacement seemed to the best way.. On this kind of stain it would be impossible to remove with stain removers...

I've had very good results with Red Relief on various wine, juice, and or Kool-Aid stains. Obviously there are a lot of factors that go into it, but so far I'm very happy with it's performance. :)

What did use to try to remove the stains with? Will an steamer and extractor clean this up?

This stain could not be removed with a red dye remover, steamer nor extractor. It is permament. Once i replace the carpet i will do quite a bit of testing
