They are a leveling pad, they have some serious cutting power and will actually leave behind micro marring or haze due to the extreme cut which then should be removed with a less abrasive pad and polish :xyxthumbs
Do a search on wool pads - they have their place and uses. I'm not sure how using a wool/RO combo compares to a rotary though... most people don't own a rotary as well. I suspect that they will have different jobs and appropriate times to use.
