wooden steering wheel

Not sure really. I'm not talking about restoring the wheel (even though that is probably the best way to go about it) but just giving it a good cleaning. This one is on a 66 charger but I'm curious on what to use for any type (old or new) of wooden wheel.

Unless the clear coating is compromised I'd use a fine polish like #80 or ScratchX to remove scratches. I'd keep the steering wheel clean with a damp microfiber.

I would be real careful messing with a valuable original equipment steering wheel like that.

Get a Hemmings Motor News and look for restoration services. If you check the prices for used wheels you will see why it's important not to do anything that might harm it.

Just curious, is that the OE wheel? I wasn't sure if they were still doing that in '66, especially for that kind of car.
