Winter Storage of detailing products

I am curious as to what you guys do with you detailing products in the winter. I am sure most of you have your garage attached to the house, and temps are resonable in the winter, maybe mid40-50s or lower for a few days depending on outside temperatures, IDK I dont use the attached garage its for my parents...



However I have a "detached" garage, we call is a barn (coming from the farm upbringing I guess), but looks like a house, 3 levels etc, anyways the garage in the "barn" is my domain. It has heat, and I keep it typically 35-40, just to keep everything in the garage above freezing, however I warm it up (50-60F) if I am going to be in there for any length of time.



So lets say I maintain a minimum temperature of 35F for the winter, what products would I want to move to the house and what products can stay?
 
I have a detached garage unheated, I brought everything inside into a cabinet in the utility room. Took a few trips with a laundry basket but I got everything inside.
 
As long as its above freezing everything will be fine. Just make sure the place you are keeping your stuff is actually that warm. I have a cheapo thermometer from Radio Shack that records high and low temps, its handy for that sort of thing.
 
eyecandy- Sounds like I keep my shop almost as chilly as you do when I'm not out there. My previous shop was probably just like your current situation.



I let the current shop/storage rooms get down around 40F when I'm not out there, no problems. My previous shop got colder than that, down to just above freezing, and that never caused any trouble either.

Sounds as though as long as it is not freezing everything should be alright, I guess any doubt I could just bring the stuff up and look at some empty shelves... not like I am doing anything from now til the spring so I guess no biggy, just find a place...



I guess another question is the fluctuation in temperatures, for when I am working in the garage, is it bad for the products to go from say 35-40F air/room/product temp to 50-60F air temp (for a few hours) then back down to 35-40F?





Yakky, my thermostat is 5' high and in the middle of the garage, on the other side, same height and above is my detailing supplies, so the temps should be identical.

I wouldn't expect any problems.
 
I put all my stuff in milk crates from my carport and just have them sitting inside. I guess I need to put them in a closet or something. Anyways this makes sure everything stays in the "safe" zone and the crates make it easy for my to move my stuff around, that and they stack nicely.
