HI everyone! Truck look firmiliar? Its pappy's also known as my best bud nicks truck. I got tired of looking at it really dirty so told him to come up so i could clean it up for him. He had souveran on it but i FK1'd it for winter durability. We didnt go for swirl removal, just hand polish, sealant, wax.

Final process:

Prewash with foam gun w/ nxt
QEW
FK1 #215 aio (review to come)
FK1 #2180 sealant
FK1 Pink Wax
FK1 #425 dq wipedown

Tires dressed with FK1 top kote dressing

Sorry for the large pics, i will use the excuse that some tdekeny complains about my smaller pics in the past haha, but in reality i was to lazy to resize.

Greg nice detail as always, the hood shot is Awsome. was this the 1st time using the foam gun.

The paint looks dripping wet -nice job.

I don't blame him for postponing the swirl removal. Save that for spring.

What temps are you working in? The pictures are making me cold!

What would you compare the FK tire dressing to? I haven't tried it, but it looks pretty nice.

Do you ever use PB's Trim Restore? It will clean up the plastic on the lower tail gate. Dodge plastic tends to wash out if it's left unprotected and gets a lot of sun.

Paint looks great!

I love the characteristics of Pink Wax...It just looks so wet and glowy.

I'm with mgm, how do you like the FK tire dressing?

I really wish i had a set like you guys to go and wash a car in this weather. I can't stand walking to the curb to get my garbage cans when its below 40* let alone grab a hose and sponge and wash my truck or jetta.

Thanks for all the good comments!

mgm2003- The temps outside were somewere in the teens but inside after I got the heat going it was about low 40's. The drain clogged in the drain so I waded through about an inch of water for most of the detail until I unclogged the drain.

Sean and mgm2003 - I cant really put my finger on waht the fk1 dressing compares too. Its glossy but not overly glossy. FWIW next fk1 order you place just ask for a sample from them, they will hook you up.

Greg,

How did OCW work for you in the low 40's? In the NE (damp) it doesn't like it too well and tends to smear. But if you're in the low 40's AND in the sun, the surface temp builds up and OCW works well.

I'm going to re-seal my rims over Christmas. This time I'm going to use #2180. I'd like to compare it against PB's and DP WS.

ocw seemed to go on fine, it was silver rims as pictured so i really couldnt tell if it was streaking but with the hand test i coudl tell it was all buffed and smooth. #2180 will be excellent on rims, it should have great durability!

The typical high-definition FK look!!! Holy! I LOVE IT!

One interesting thing: I wiped the snow from my car with an extra long nap MF mitt (I was in a hurry). The horizontal areas have Collinite 845/885 and FK 2180/Pink on them. The snow was frozen onto the surface where the Collinites are while the FK-topped surface didn't hold the snow at all. I could just push it down - no frozen bits, no nothing. Slid off easily. Later, the other positive experience was looking at the thawed water on the Collinite surfaces beading. Oh, those lovely tiny Collinite beads!
But in this case, I rather have a product which controls the pollutant/dirt adherence like FK.

Greg, great work! How do you like the FKs?

Bence - I love the fk's. The pink wax has blown me away and the 2180 is very easy to use too. I Think it will be very durable. #425 qd is by far my favorite and it smells good too (cake). I have tried a few other fk1 products and have only had a couple only decent product but the rest are excellent.

greg,

im really lieking the pink wax. ive only used it 2 or 3 time son my own car but i remember you mentioning to me, that you used it in combination with ocw. im not sure if u spit shine it or sprayed ocw on to a hazed pink wax layer, but i would like to hear more about it.

Joy - I layed down the coat of pink wax on the entire car and then sprayed a little ocw on the haze and buffed off. I didnt really notice any change. I find that there is no better way to follow pink wax than fk1 #425 qd, it leaves the finish slick!

I washed my car today and finished with the qd afterwards, it really boosted the slickness. I would imagine ocw properlly spit shined with pink wax would look great though, but i love the plain looks on pink wax, even unspitshined.
