I have two very very small windshield cracks on my windshield, from the passenger side to center of car. they aren't real noticable, but how did they get there? And how can I fix them, I did a search and came up with nothing. I have zainos window polish, will this do anything?

If its a crack, it wont go away. Unless you replace the windshield. However, there are several places that will repair it at no charge (as long as your insurace accepts it) And that will prevent it from possibly spreading and even help make it less noticeable.

What caused the cracks - could be any number of things, poor fitting, to much body flex, out of spec windscreen. I would say to get it checked out. This glass provides a lot of rigidity to the rest of the car.

Often if you get a chip in the windshield, another object striking the windshield afer may cause the crack to occur. Cracks are bad news becasue they will continue to spread until it reaches the end of the glass.

Also, in winter, cracks can start if you have a rock chip and crank up the defrost without letting the windshield warm up slowly.

If you have a crack across your line of vision (the driver's vision), then you are supposed to have the windshield replaced ASAP as this is a drving hazard.
