Will Poorboy's EX hide swirls?

Ok, I know polish will take swirls out. However, tomorrow night I am doing my buddy's 2002 Civic. He is going to have it in a show Friday-Sunday. The thing is, he does not listen to what I tell him and does not know how to take care of paint. I found him last Friday rubbing the dusty car down before a local show with a rag. RUBBING DIRT AROUND BLACK PAINT!!!! Anyway, it is a free job and I will be darned if I am going to spend all my time on it to get all of the swirls out then see it back to the same in a month or so. So, will Poorboy's Ex hide the swirls for now? I will put a few layers on if needed. Thanks!

I haven't found that sealants cover many swirls. Charge his *** and throw some VM on it and then take some EX to it if you are under time constraint.

I would charge him but i just don't have the time this week to get it done. Tomorrow night I have some spare time was all.

Thanks!

The EX will hide some but not all the swirls...if your friend can live with them then you'll have to live with them too:rolleyes:

The quickest help for those swirls would be Mother's Sealer and Glaze than top with EX. These two products work very well together and produces an incredible deep wet finish on black.

blkZ28Conv,

Hey, I was on vacation for about a week and I see that you have a new recipe! :xyxthumbs

I have never used Mother's Sealer and Glaze. How is it to work with?

All you need now is a lab coat and a dungeon to detail in!

Cheers,

LOL :D. My detailing garage is underground ( part of basement next to laundry room and family room).

AMP, I got bored last weekend so I saw this Mother's bottle begging to be used. I had just finish washing the Z and said "what the heck". EX is so versatile I said "Let's do it" :o.

Mother's is very easy to work with and I applied with as little pressure as possible to spread ( hoping that any solvents that made be present would only removed top coating of exposed sealant). Allowed to haze and wiped off with MF. Applied a coat of EX. I like the results.:xyxthumbs

The whole procedure was done indoors on cool vehicle ( very important ).:wavey

Ahh... another one?!

Can I guess your next recipie, blkZ28Conv? Is it #7 + BF + Mother's SG + Zaino + EX + CK + next "in" wax?

;)

Me wonders if you'll go in a circle and come back to strictly Zaino. I've experienced this... people get bored, want to experiment, but sometimes, get farther and farther away from our intentions... then one day we come back thinking, "Wow! I should have stuck with neroiasdqypfhqwhgads! I like it again!"

Only time will tell.

LOL!!!

Actually as my detailing skills and knowledge increases, products that I tried in the past did not benefit from these gains. Using better prep technique allows almost any protective product tp produce a wonderful finish.

If I have learned only one theory from Autopia, it is - PREP IS EVERTHING.

When the new Zaino came out I talked to Sal quite a few times and he noted that I did not prep well for my first visit to Zainoland. Admittingly this was true. I used Zaino similarly to carnuaba-like products but did not realize the lack of "make-up" ability of Zaino. It is hard to break a habit formed over 30 years of the forgiving nature of carnaubas and cleaner waxes. As my time at Autopia increased even carnuaba's natural covering-up ability became less obvious as my trained and now sharper focused eye picked out paint flaws that previously I soft focused out.

Now with the ever increasing skill, better tools (MF's, PC, patience, etc) products and knowledge I decided to give the newest Zaino a re-dux.

I am extremely glad I did. :bounce

Nevertheless, I still use EX, Souveran and P21S on my Lexus and will continue to do so.

It's like having your cake and eating it too. ;)

Life is a circle. The goal is to learn something and give something back with each rotation. :wavey
