Will plain mothers aluminum polish work on..

those aluminum foil-like heat shields surrounding parts under the hood of some cars? If so, will other polishes like Maas, Flitz, Simichrome,etc work too ( or better)?



Never polished these parts before , need some feedback. TIA

I am pretty sure it would work.



I use it on polished stainless steel, polished aluminum, etc. Works like a charm. Some of the other polishes will likely work too, but may be a bit to aggressive.



You can always tried it in an inconspicuous spot and decide.

Mag & Aluminum Polish is made for non-coated (bare) aluminum and other alloys.



When you start rubbing with it, the surface should turn black (a chemical reaction to the nickel present in aluminum). If it doesn't turn black, it is probably coated, anodized, or some other alloy type (stainless steel?).



But, if it is bare aluminum, the other metal polishes you listed should be fine to use also.
