Will IW 845 interfere wth RMG?

I sampled RMG on my hood today with great results, I used IW 845 as an LSP. Will the 845 remove the RMG? I applied both with a finishing pad.

nope, 845IW doesn't container cleaners in it. With you topping the RMG with a wax, you just sealed in the oils for a long time to come.

I know it does not have any cleaners, but how about the solvents, IW smells pretty tough.

Well my next question is kind of the opposite. Does RMG prevent proper bonding of IW 845?

It's been a week and a half with one washing and my car sits in the rain and pollen all day. When I washed a week after I clayed, FPII'd, RMG'd and 845'd the hood and trunk, it is beads the same as the rest of the car, which is 6 week old OCW. I would expect tight small beads from IW 845 after one week. The beads are kind of flat and the sheeting is slow. Could the oils from RMG harm the IW from adhering properly?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Steve

Shicks...I ask myself that question alot to my self at times....I love collinite waxes and as you said they are high in carrier solvents....but to answer the question..I have no true answer..but I have thoughts...I believe solvents that strong must have some type of action on what ever you apply them over but can not say for sure..

It does say flammable mixture..lol..do not smoke near it.j/k..

this is the reason I use hand power to apply carnuba's ..I try to apply as gentle as I can..I think the PC application even with a finish pad may just have enough cut action to utilize the solvents as a cleaner and work on the present product on the paint....I could be way off on this..but just my thoughts...

If alcohol and water mix or dawn can remove some product why can't carrier solvents...they seem strong enough to...maybe not as bad for a synthetic sealant..but for a glaze maybe just clean it from the surface and leave fillers in place in the fine scrates????

Who knows..I sure don't...but sticks in my head when using them..

I would like to here thoughts on this also...

Not sure about RMG , but VM is supposed to have wax in it.

If the same is true for RMG , maybe let it cure for a day then apply the 845.

I usually use AIO as a base with an IW LSP on my White Ranger and get crazy beading

for a long time afterward.

However, this past time I used a VM base and noticed the same diminished beading as you mentioned. But , I didn't allow for curing.

Something to experiment with. Who knows?....it might make a difference. :nixweiss

By the way , the car in the picture looks GREAT !...very nice.
