As taken from a Wikipedia article..........

* Avoid swirl marks by washing all the dirt off of the car first and by using a 100 percent cotton terry cloth towel to apply and remove the polish. The nap draws grit up into the towel instead of rubbing it into the finish.

* Wash your towels with liquid fabric softener--this will keep them fluffy for best results.

* Avoid using too much elbow grease on ridges and corners. Your car's paint is thinner in those spots.

Maybe the author doesnt realize FS acts as a water repellant?
 
Leaving aside my heretical views about the judicious use of softeners on cotton towels :o



Yeah, gotta be *VERY* careful about info gleaned from Wikipedia. I won't poke the hornet's nest with a stick by getting specific, but I would *never* consider it a reliable source of information.
 
Someone should go in and correct it. That is one of the good (or not, depending on how you look at it) things about Wikipedia. Users have the power to fix things.
 
wiki is good, but like everything it has its faults.



I guees there is a governing body or review system for encylapedias, wiki was reted just as relabile as britanina (i think thats whats its called). Its not the most acurate but it doesa good enough job foe generel information.



I guees you just have to fnd mulitple sourses, but any good researcher would that anyway ;)

Some corrections (and ones that needed doing too) have been blocked/undone. Users only have as much power as is granted to them ;)



Andrew Vachss and others have written some good articles on how to avoid being a cyber-chump (as he puts it), and not trusting Wikipedia is high on the list of smart moves. A little research will turn up things that're shocking by most any standards.

Wikipedia is a decent source of info, but like said, it's not reliable. It's always a good starting point tho.

To be fair, the author was talking about using the terry towels for applying and removing polish, not for drying, so the absorbency might not be such an issue.
