June 29, 2005 -- Birds prefer to do their business on white cars, a new study claims. Researchers at Bristol University in England counted the number of droppings on 2,000 vehicles, and found that birds were less likely to dirty navy-blue and black cars. Expert Derek Toomer said birds may "bomb" white vehicles because they associate the color with predators.

I'll have to say, it's VERY rare for them to hit red cars.





Both mine and my girlfriend's vehicles are red. In the past year of 24 hours outside, I got hit TWICE and I think she was at 2 or 3.

Maybe it happened more than that but it just slid right off those highly polished surfaces and you didn't notice :nixweiss
 
I think it is a bunch of nonsense. When birds are flying overhead I doubt they have any idea what's underneath them at the time they do their business.

Don't ask how I know this, but birds have no sphincter muscle. They don't choose when they drop, it just comes out....



Now, proceed with gross comments regarding how I know this

I have to strongly disagree. I think everyone knows that a bird with the most severe case of diareaha will hold it until he can find a black car.
 
One of those things that I have been told (but never tested) is that birds do there business on take off or shortly thereafter. So if we can determine their flight pattern we can park in the safe spots.
