Why use Nitro Seal instead of Caranuba?

What is the draw to Nitro Seal? I'm not saying its not a great product, but I have yet to find anything- ANYTHING that looks better than a pure, hi end Caranuba over a dark colored vehicle.

Now if the draw to Nitro Seal is because of the long term protection- I'm ok with that- obviously Caranuba does not have the durability of todays polymer coatings.

But as far as looks- when I went out to Pebble Beach's Concours event, the winning cars had hi-end Caranubas on them. And I tried just about every polymer out there on my Z06 before settling on Pinncacle caranuba for the ultimate "pop" and depth.

But to be fair..I'm intrigued enough to order Nitro Seal and put it to the "show" test with my Z06, and my new 2012 Range Rover. One is jet black, the other Santorini black- which is metalflake. Both have been paint corrected and both are sitting in the garage.

I'm very curious!

If you like Pinnacle, stick with it. Everyone rates their criteria differently. It sounds like you are a carnauba guy and like it's benefits and can live with it's limitations.

Personally, I use whatever sealant I like then just use an oil rich QD like Speedshine or PB Spray and Gloss. Drippy looks and good protection.

The look of Nitro Seal is amazing. I do like carnauba waxes as well. Only your eyes can tell you what it likes better. I gave away my favorite carnauba wax after trying Nitro Seal.

Can you tell me what you liked about it?

I do all my own polishing and compounding- and I know how to prep the car and correct the flaws before my final coat of wax or sealant. I use mostly Menzerna and 3M products. I actually come from an automotive refinishing background, and learned to cut and buff over 20 years ago.

Lord knows I've dropped some cash on "the hottest" wax or sealants out there over the years, but I always end up back with the caranubas.

Yeah..they are streaky..a PITA to remove, but the shine and depth is good. It looks like the Nitro Seal has all the benefits appearance wise of the caranubas, but none of the downsides.

I checked out your website, btw. Nice work. Like to see another guy out there with a rotary in his hand.
