I got a referral from a body shop I do occasional details for. A lady called last week make an appointment for today to detail her VW Passat and Mercedes E320. I get to the house and look over the cars and I couldn't believe it...I was going to have an easy day for a change! Both cars were obviously well taken care of, they had recently been washed and vacuumed and either she or her husband are totally anal about the windows, because they were spotless on the inside. Paint was in great shape on both cars, just a light bit of grit on the Passat, since it sits outside because their other car, a Porsche 911 shares the garage with the Mercedes.
Anyway, the interiors were in good shape, the E320 was only two years old but had very little dirt, mostly just scuff marks on the bottom of the door panels and the mats. The Passat was in very good condition for 3 year old car that sits outside, no stains, just scuffs and dirty mats also.
I almost felt bad charging them full price for a detail...almost!:xyxthumbs I even got a 20% tip and she told me she would call about the Porsche in about a month (it is nearly brand new), and wants me to remind them every three months about at least waxing all three cars.
Ended up being a great day, until I went bowling and disgraced myself before the entire league by bowling 80 total pins below my average for 3 games.
