Why do spots/streaks appear on seats?

I've noticed that when I'm doing leather seats, particularly light colored ones, if I hose them down with cleaner, then start to brush, i'll get bleached-looking streaks and spots from the spray. why is this happening and HOW can i undo it? It seems like no matter how hard I scrub around them, the bleaching is appearant. I'm hoping it's just the dirt carred off from such a high concentration where the chemical hits and streaks. Further more, i'm using leather cleaner too-not a high concentrate APC. I even tried to use soap and water, and still the streaks are visible
 
Try to work the cleaner as a foam this should reduce that. Was this one interior, it could have been previous damage hidden under the grime?
 
Spray from the bottom up, lightly but evenly misting the leather. If you start at the top, cleaner that's already reacted with the dirt on the leather runs down and protects the dirt that's on the lower parts from getting the same action.



Still, you might be using too harsh or too concentrated a cleaner. The more aggressive the cleaner the more important it is to start from the bottom when spraying then wipe from the top down.

The cleaner is not being applied evenly and is causing deep etching/clean spots. Reapply product to the area and aggitate and it will even out. Don't let the cleaner run down a seat. Spray the product and immediately spread it over the area without letting it sit/dwell too long. Work small sections and be cautious of overspray on adjacent panels.



This streaking is common when people clean soiled light colored seats.

Ok, that sounds like my issue.



FWIW: i'm working on dry seats...
