Why did wax streak?

Hey whats up?

I have done a ton of cars with Zymol cleaner wax and I have never had it streak. I did an older ford ranger which was black and the paint was in horrible shape. The sides, doors and front fenders turned out amazing as usual, but for the first time I got streaks on the hood and roof. The weather conditions were very sunny and pretty hot. I was doing a 2x2 section at a time and when I wiped it off I noticed the streaking. Only streaked hood and roof??? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Clint

From the conditions you describe and the panels that streaked (hood and roof are the hottest) it is more than likely hear related. Did you clay first? Any other prep work?

I am pretty sure that Ranger has a single stage paint job. If all the oxidation is not removed, the oils in waxes will streak. You need something that will more deeply polish the hood and roof. In addition, I have found paste waxes are far less likely to streak on single stage paint.
