who has done black Audi paint?

pitck black s5 booked friday

i think its called brilliant black bit it`s non metallic

anyone polished this paint before?

im hearing its really hard clear yet also hearing its hard to finish (i.e. soft)which reminds me of mopar pitch black which i have dialed in already

I just did a black metallic S4. Used Rupes/Boss Yellow pads and mostly Essence. Had a couple of areas that needed Fast Correcting Cream for deeper defects but it wasn`t bad at all.

I don`t think it should give you too much trouble.

Typically on the hard side and can be a bit fussy to finish, but nothing too crazy and various combos have worked well for me.







 
I`ve seen it be both difficult to finish and no problem. Depends on what clear they use. I`ve used Griot`s fast cut on both fast cut foam and microfiber, and refined with both yellow with perfecting cream or black with the same. You can also use finishing sealant the wipe with paint prep before lsp. You just need the correct lighting to make sure you have clarity.

Brandt, I think you would be find following you regiment as you do when doing a Mopar black. I did a S5 last year with my Rupes 21 3 stage mf cutting pad meguiars 100 followed by mf finish pad with 205 followed by white polishing pad and Essence.

Hope this helps my friend.

The guy who owns clearfinish polishes audi`s all the time. His P1 compound with a MF pad can be used as a 1 step from what he posts. Cuts and finishes amazing. No dust. He has a FB group.

i have his products (p1, endurance and radiance)
you cant one step black properly, i dont care who you are unless its barely marred

there is Always room for more gloss :)
 
great news..its metallic black and it bears a ridiculous resemblance to the red, green, yellow/gold, and some random blue flakes that are in my brilliant black metallic

That`s phantom black. I`ve used plenty of different combos for heavy cutting, but almost always grab rupes yellow to finish it. Sonax perfect finish for one step polishing. M205, the old menzerna final finish or angelwax redemption to finish.

well i was planning on pa centurion since ive had it almost a year and never opened it but the flake now, im considering master sealant then zirkon or high gloss to bring the flake up and out more

im sure ill change my mind a dozen times or more before i lay down the lsp Saturday

That`s the combo we use in our shop, but with the old Flex 3401. We just got the Rupes Big Foot today, got a little time with it, so far really impressed! We do a lot of VW`s and Audi`s.

I think I got this covered after all the suggestions so far and advice. thanks everyone

car drops tomorrow...im currently running on the fumes in the fuel line so to speak but I`m excited about this as the owner is probably the most excited client I`ve talked to in quite some time
