The stain that Mothers Pre-Wax Cleaner left could be removed with Meguiars Extra.

Been through that fight with the stuff. Eagle A2Z wheel cleaner will take it out.

On the same textured plastic, TurtleWax Platinum Series Ultra Gloss liquid (stock number without "R") left white stain that could be removed by quick detailer.

I do not know why liquid and paste behave differently on this plastic.

By the way, Pepboys is selling Prestone liquid wax and spray wax at $2.5 together - clearance sale. Are they going to be discontinued?

I applied protectant on the textured black plastic handle of the pot, applied TurtleWax Platinum Series Ultra Gloss paste wax on it, let it for an hour, wiped off wax, wiped with quick detailer, and saw the white stain.

The protectants tested:

Meguiars Gold Class Trim Detailer

Mothers Back-to-Black

Vinylex

Mothers Preserves

303 Protectant

TurtleWax 2001 Super Protectant

The protectant that made the wax stain the plastic least was TurtleWax 2001 Super Protectant.

(TurtleWax now sells F21 Super Protectant which is probably reformulated and may behave differently.)

Different wax and different plastic may give different result.

p.s.

Unfortunately, I did not have ArmorAll Original Protectant, so I could not test it. I thought ArmorAll was one of the cheapest product, but, at a local shop, it was more expensive than Meguiars NXT Tech Protectant. It seems to be one of premium priced protectants if we exclude products such as 303 or 1Z.

Below is copy from ArmorAll Original Protectant web page. They do not say that it is safe on perforated vinyl car bra, but they recommend it for weather-stipping (EPDM!).

---

TIP: Along with the dashboard, Armor All® Protectant is effective for other surfaces such as tires, door panels, vinyl seats, consoles, window trim, bumpers, weather-stripping, engine hoses, vinyl tops, and more.
