White plastic stuff in MF towels

Ok, so I washed my towels today and, as usual I always go over them for loose debris. Well upon inspection I noticed on almost every one of them there were these plastic shouds embedded in them. At first it reminded me of a finger nail, but they where everywhere. Some of them were really stuck in there and had to take a pair of pliers to remove. Any idea what they could had been or where they came from? I'm just glad I always look over my towels just for this reason.
 
Did you get them at Target? If you bought them online call the vendor and ask them to send you new ones. Did you tear out any of the fibers when you used the pliers?
 
Well, 80% of them were the Vroom towels at Target, however a few of my other towels were not from Target but still had a few of these in them. I was pretty careful when pulling the pieces out. I may have pulled a few fibers out, but didn't gouge or tear anything on them.
