white hides everything.

history the car was purchaed at an auction. The dealership had slathered about 50 gallons of gunk on the inside and outside trim. Since they had done this it had attracted grime everwhere. the lower body pannels turned my pads dark gray with dirt. After wash and clay.

Just starting the clay on the roof. The clay litterally ran black with imeded dirt and grime. The whole car was this way. It was what was keeping the car from baing a pearl.

yes the interior turned out great, no i did not take pics. they had the drive way filling up for their daughters b-day party. 20+ guests.

cleaned and protected carpet, headliner, mats.

cleaned and dressed all vinyl and plastic.

cleaned, conditioned, and protected the leather.

Agreed. Awesome turnaround. Did you use a foam applicator or anything special to get behind the door handles?

Yes i used PB ssr1, on a foam aplicator behind the door handles. the 4 of them between claying, cleaning, and polishing probably took over an hour.

with the carpet, headliner, cleaned & protected, the leather cleaned, conditioned and protected. Scraping all the gunk off the exterior trim. YEah some one used a dressing almost like black shoe polish on the tires and all black exterior trim every time you touched it you got black on you.

total.

21 hours. I figured 24, that's what she paid for.

Cracking good work there mate restoring the pearl finish to the car - the paint was just dead and flay before, no evidence of the pearl in the before shots. Great work on the handles too, they looked like they were beyond repair in the photos. Nice one! :2thumbs:

I bought a car years ago where they spray stuff on the engine to make it "look" nice clean and shiney. But after a few days it was covered with so much dust you couldn't see or read any of the decals under the hood. Lots of time spent with simple green on that one!

Car looks great btw, you did a fantastic job!

The engine was a mess, it was my first task the 2nd day after getting the 2nd coat of ex-p on. A good 45 min just making it so opening the hood did not leave you soiled in dirt. Basically i used foam brushes and apc along with about 30 towels. Started at the top and worked my way down. Let it air dry and dressed it all later in the day.

After the engine I prevacuumed the carpet, prespoted it, preconditioned with a detergent. Then brushed it in letting it sit for about 15 min. I extracted the whole thing with a rinsing detergent. There were about 5-10 large coke stains in the back, along with alot of food spotting in the middle seating area carpet.

I then pre vacuumed the headliner, Prespoted it and lightly brushed in fine fabric shampoo. Then i extracted it with a rinse agent. On the headliner there was a few coffee stains up on the sunroof shade, along with some juice stains in the rear seating area.

Once both of those were done i protected them with fourgaurd carpet protector.

From there I moved exterior trim and door jams while the carpet started to dry. A good cleaning with apc and another 30 mf towels i was able to start the first step of the leather masters cleaning.

For the leather seats I assesed the heavily soiled areas, and proceed to use strong cleaner on the heavily troubled areas, then i moved onto the soft cleaner. After cleaning the seats i addressed cleanign the sterring wheel leather and the dash vinyl. I set blowers up to aid drying of the leather for the next hour.

Heading back to the exterior i wiped off the 2nd coat of sealant and started the "spit shine" method for the wax. It went on smoothly and nearly effortlessly. Then I dressed the exterior trim.

From there I moved on to conditioning the leather seats and setting up the blowers again.

Lunch at like 4, I started the leather protection cream, 2nd coat of wax via spitshine. conditioning the interior doors, vinyl and Plastic. Finally the glass.

Massive improvement! :)

Seriously, what is the deal with those door handles? The LX470 I did on Saturday was the same way.

luckily i found it to be somewhat soft in that area. I was able to pull the handle out and do 2/3rds of it from the bottom and the res from the top down. let me tell you I banged up my fingers pretty good when i got one pinched on that lil edge of the door handle on the right side. OUCH. it acts like siscors.
