White Cracking Spots on Black Paint? (PICS)

I have a black '03 Nissan 350z. There are these white cracking spots on the hood and other parts of the car don't know what to do about. If anyone knows how to take care of this, let me know, or at least how to hide them so they don't stand out as much.

I tried search the forum for it, but didn't know what it would have been called.

I appreciate any advise.

I attached pictures... f anyone needs needs better pctures, let me know.

looks like bird bomb etching....or at least etching of some sort..not sure the origin but did you have something there too long and not wipe it off? if it is above the surface maybe some residual tree sap? rubbing alcohol wiped gently across it may remove it if it is just something on the paint...otherwise some combination of wet sanding/compounding/polishing might remove it...depends what exactly it is

Thanks for the response.

These spots were on the car when I bought it a year ago. It looks like cracking all in one area. If I turn my head a certain angle, I can actually see the reflection of it on the clearcoat.

What grit sand paper would I need?

PS: Josh, Congrats on the new Sea Ray. They are fantastic boats! I work for thier marketing agency in St. Louis.

3000 uni-grit or higher to start...but the only way to remove the sanding marks is to machine polish afterward...remember less is more with wet sanding...check your work after each pass or two if you are unfamiliar with what you are doing....no hard pressure....

looks like bird bomb and it got left on the hood!! The acid burns your paint if you got no wax on the car!

Unfortunatly I know this for fact cuase i have a similiar spot on my trucks hood although its not as bad but same charateristics

Sanding will be a lost cause. If the paint is cracking, you won't be able to fix it. Look at it under a magnifying glass to be sure.
