Which Zaino for new paint?

Hey, I've been reading a lot of posts and I think I've decided to go with Zaino for my brand new Mazdaspeed 6.

Two questions:

- Which products do I need to maintain the paint? I don't need any polishes since at the moment my car is swirl and scratch free! I'd rather not start working away at my clearcoat just yet :)

- Do I need to wait a certain amount of time before I wax the car? I've heard new paint needs to gas off sometimes and harden?

Thanks!

Z7, Z5, Z2Pro, ZFX and Z6 should be plenty.

You can apply the Zaino as soon as you receive it. Factory paint is baked on now so there's no outgassing period required any more.

1) Do you want a whole package or just the minimals? A good starter kit would be the new Z2PRO, Z1 or ZFX, Z6, Z8, and Z7. You can get away with less if you want just the minimum. In that case just order the sealant, Z2PRO, with Z1 or ZFX. You can always use other wash/QD products, if you choose, just make sure they are compatible with the Z polishes.

2) No, if the paint wasn't already hard now, it would probably wash off in a rainstorm. Paint is fully cured and ready to wax from the factory. The "waiting to cure" idea is just a myth on new cars, but can be true for some repaints. Go ahead and wax her up!

I'd like to do the minimum amount of work, and also spend the least amount of money (within reason) since the car cost enough :P

Basically I'm looking at a wax only right? Since a polish is used to remove swirls?

I bought a jug of Gold Class car wash... can I keep using it :|

Then I'd recommend you start with just the Z sealant, Z2PRO, and either Z1 or ZFX (up to you). This is the "wax only" or LSP, there is no need for an abrasive polish for swirl removal.

Yes, you can use the GC wash with Zaino polish. The GC wash has less bite actually than the Zaino car wash, so you're fine.

So it'd be "Z-1 SHOW CAR POLISH LOK PRE-CLEANER AND GLOSS CONDITIONER" first - the polish title is a bit misleading, this doesn't have any abrasives in it though?

Followed up by "Z-2 SHOW CAR POLISH FOR CLEAR COATED FINISHES"?

I would suggest also the Z8 as a minimum purchase item. After applying Z2PRO the only maintenence item needed would be Z8. After washing a quik QD with the "spray sealant" will re-enforce the Z2PRO protection but also add "POP" (reflectivity, depth/wetness and slickness) to the appearance and finish.

Z8 is not a necessity, but it sure helps keeping that "just waxed" look after washing without applying another coat of Z2PRO. :2thumbs: JMHO

I also just bought a MS6 in velocity red mica.

1. When I got it home I washed it with dawn and warm water. You should'nt have to use ZPC or clay IMO.

2. I did 2 coats of Z5

3. 2 coats Z2 pro ( I also put Z2pro on my rims, all those spokes are hard to keep clean without Z2 pro).

4. finish with Z8

5. After initail detail ,I maintain with Z7 car wash and Z8

The Zaino really makes the red mica sparkle,I get tons of compliments.

Minimal needed. ZFX, Z5, Z2 pro, Z8 and Z7 ( Z16 is awsome for tires )

Don't forget after this intial investment you are set for a long time, 1st of all because Zaino goes a long way, 2. you have the best protection in the industry3. very easy maintenance with Z7 & Z8

4. Zaino will not harm you clear coat 5. IMO the shine is unbeatable

I hope to post some pics soon.

After reading some of these posts and exploring more on the Zaino store, I think I will do

ZFX+Z2Pro followed by some Z6.

Might purchase some Z8 down the road.

Something else to consider when ordering from Sal is that he has flat rate shipping so it costs the same to order one bottle of product as it does to order ten bottles of product.

Every one has given you the bare minimum. Yet I hope that you consider ZPC Fusion as your paint cleaner. Applied by hand it will do the same thing as Klasse AIO. Yet with the proper pads and machines it will clear up marring very nicely for you.

It is a large expense to purchase any products complete line but in the long run you will be money ahead to purchase the complete line to maintain your vehicle for years. It really is pay me now or pay me later kind of scenerio. Since Zaino is synergistic using the whole system will give you optimum results for durability and shine.

I agree , and you will just end up subsituting inferior products. Also big mistake not getting Z8 ,I would definately definately get Z8 instead of Z6. There is nothing that can compare to Z8 IMO.
