Couple points:

4 Star UPP = Platinum UPP (no need to list it twice).

also, you forgot to list

Meg's #20 Polymer Sealant

Meg's NXT Tech Wax (supposedly a "sealant" by their definition)

I haven't used everything on that list and a few I haven't used long enough yet.

I have found that for me, EX w/carnauba is more durable than EX-P.

Zaino least durable hilarious, it shouldn't be on this list. Klasse shouldn't be on this list either. They are the gold standard in durabilty and a vote for either of them is comical.

I've had good experience with both and so have a lot of others; however that doesn't mean everyone has had excellent results.

Wow EXP has that many votes? Whoosh. Maybe prep is a big key since its such a pure sealant? I hope EXP+ Will address the issue.

I think that some of the problems with EX-P's durability can be attributed to the trend of putting an oily product under it (VM) and expecting it to properly bond over it. While the looks are killer, I would have to think that it's a compromise.

I used AIO as a base.

Out of all the sealants I have used ( NXT, KSG, WG, EX-P and EX ) they have all gotten to 3 months in varying levels of condition, but they were still protecting ( IMO ). I use AIO exclusively as a base when going for durability and it is unbeatable in my eyes.

But environmentally here in Australia, I think we are pretty blessed - execpt for the heat during summer that can be blistering. Besides that no acid rain or anything like that, and our winters are fairly mild with no snow etc. So I think that helps.....

EX-P gets my vote. Applied to polished paint, with no "beutifiers" underneath.

I would also add NXT.

Steve recommends using Pro Polish as a base, so you have a good point. However, that is the one product he has that doesn't seem to be very user friendly. I use either VM or PwC and I may also try AIO too. Not that I am getting bad durability but it only lasts about 3 months or so in the wax friendly Dallas area-about the same as a good carnauba lasts. Not a huge issue for me since I rewax most of my customer's cars 4-6 times a year but if I am doing a car for someone who only gets their car done once or twice a year, I reach for EX w/carnauba instead. I get a good 4-6 months from it.

Please don't think that I'm defending it as I just wanted to point out that even if it had a chance, it really doesn't over VM.

I find it interesting that as of this post 4 people chose Zaino as the least durable. I haven't tried it yet (probably this summer) but the one thing I keep reading about is it's durability.

I didnt have a lot of success with EX-P either....And it was used soley with other PB prod's. I pretty much dropped PB's from my arsenal, excluding SSR's 1 & 2. This survey would obviously be more accurate if all voters have used all of the above products.

Nothing wrong with defending it, EX-P really has a great look. It just isn't as durable as other sealants. I don't really see it as a problem for most Autopians anyway since so many like to layer. I really don't see a difference in layering Zaino or SG vs reapplying EX-P once more frequently.

I love the stuff for ease of use and how it doesn't really care what the conditions are. I only use it cars that I see on a regular basis and one of my cars but nothing longer than about 6 weeks as the customers REALLY like the looks and get the cars done often. On the other hand, I haven't used all of the products mentioned and can't really say which one is the weak one. I'm sure of a couple of the stronger ones though.
