Duetto
Mini

Mostly cut with Zephir on their Blue microfiber discs, and polish with Keramik on yellow foam.

Great system!

It looks like the 21 works well with the 5" backing plate so why should i buy the 15 when i do shell out the big bucks?

I just saw a youtube video of Larry from ammonyc do a comparison of the rupes vs the gg6". I do believe the are older versions of the machine cause he said the GG6" had 700 watts vs the 3rd gen which has 850 watts

Rupes 21 has more cut, however the 15 is smoother.

Personally my 21 MKI with the katana was my fave by FAR.

Side note, I`ll be modifying my Katana BP to fit on the 21 MKII. Should be mean!

How much smoother and is the unsmoothness of the 21 smoother than say a pc or gg6"

If your going from a GG6 A Rupes 21 will be atleast 50-75% smoother, a 15 model will be another 5-10% smoother. When I polish with the 15 with a CORRECT pad there is literally no vibration. By all measure smoother then a rotary when you factory in a rotaries drag bias towards it`s direction of orbit.

Thank you. I`m just trying to figure which one I want to get next. I`ve thought of the flex but I`m starting to like the idea of a larger throw to get the same done better and faster. I may still get a flex but years down the road as I`m never happy with what I have lol.

The flex is an excellent back up tool. It`s the machine that will never die, it`s not fastest or smoothest but it will ALWAYS get the job done.

If your just purchasing for yourself and its medium to light polishing a get a used Rupes 15. It`s probably the smoothest out of the bunch, however like I said my absolute fave polisher was a rupes 21 mark I with a katana plate.

21 MkII, 15 MkII, Duetto and Mini. All except mini have washed mod. I love especially my 21 and Duetto, 15 seems stall more, maybe faulty unit. Probably going to sell my 15, as it seems pretty much useless to me now. Going to get Ibrid someday.
