Hi guys,

first off very informative and helpful forums, only thing is i'm confusing myself with different threads so hopefull someone will reccomend something for me as I live in the UK and shipping is expensive so I want to get it right.....

I have a pearl white (clearcoat) IS300 and am planning to get the sonus porter cable package, my question is what products should I be looking at getting? I'd like something to get rid of swirl marks and anything else you can recomend? Will they be all the pads/backing pads i'd need? Any ideas on what waxes/sealants are best for white paint?

please go easy on the abreviations as i'm new to all this :)

Thanks in advance

damm, I just checked your cardomain website and that really is impressive, think i'll give that a try then, I have the same problem with the marks where the mudguards were, I tried to remove them by hand with polish but they didnt totally come off.

There are plenty of products that will make your paint look nice...the process is more important than the products. But now you can see how the car can look with certain products/combinations. Good luck and post some pictures when you finish a detail!

Yeah cleaning under the splash guards is a very good idea. I couldn't believe how much rust and crap was under there. I'll do that twice a year from now on.

Which polish did you use to try to clean the area under the splash guards? Did you clay first?

i tried clay and then the meguiars polish from the three stage kit, one side looks better than the other! (makes sense I suppose cuz the worst side is the passenger side so presumably it goes through more puddles and roadside crap than the drivers side)

I had all of mine turn out spotless.

Here's the process I used:

Wash

Mothers clay with NXT soap/water for lube

3M PI III MG by hand

P21S GEPC (paintwork cleanser...same thing)

EX-P
