Which Polish

I want to rid my Black C5 of some minor swirls and one or two light scratches. After some recommendations from Autopians I have been doing my research on polishes. I've Narrowed it down to these choices:

#9

#81

3m PI SMR for dark Paints

( can someone also give me info on #83, I don't see it in the review section)

I would like to start with the least agressive then move up, Corvette paint is very soft. I'd appreciate any advice on which to go with.

Btw Should I use Scratch X first on the stratches then move to one of these polishes? Or Start with Medallion PPC

The polishes will be followed by:

#7

Klasse SG x2(possibly NXT x2, if my Klasse doesnt arrive soon)

#26

All done by hand

I have a cruise coming up in 2 weeks and I need the Car to be as perfect as possible!

Again, Thanks in advance:xyxthumbs

I have a black EVO that had plenty of swirls and light scratches, the products I used were 1zpp, mp. I then topped it with 1zgw and after 24hours I applied pinacle souveran. I would say I removed 50% or more of the imperfections and the gloss, depth and shine that I know have is unbeleivable. Just imagine the results I would had have if I used a pc.

in the hall of fame section there is a long post on the formulation and use of megs #7 by mike philips, a megs employee. You might want to look at that, because it does not sound like the easiest product to use and I don't think you will be able to put klasse sg on top of it. You probably will only be able to use #26 on it.

For user friendliness and effectivness I would recommend the Einszett triplets - Ultra, Paint Polish and Metallic. Easy to use by hand and very effecitve with a PC. Ultra and a cutting pad on the bad areas, PP with polishing pad everywhere and if you want to finesse the shine up, Metallic and a finishing pad.

An alternative to the Metallic would be Menzerna FP, my favorite

Gonzo - How aggressive is the Einszett Paint Polish? where is a good place to order it? Can I get Einszett products over the counter?

Pocon1 - Thanks for the artical good read. Does it say that the only wax that can be used over #7 is #26? Thats what I normally do I'm just usung Klasse since the winter is coming up. Do you think even if I apply a slight amount of #7 and get it off thouroghly it will have a negative affect on Klasse SG?

since it looks like you are primarily using Meguiar's products I recommend checking out their forums at:

there is a lot of good information about the various products. btw, I just recently read that #7 was formulated for single stage paints and that #81 was developed for clear coats.

also, yes on the Scratch X first. here is a how-to

finally, #83 is often referred to as DACP here.

For longevity I would not recommend #7 under SG for possible bonding issues. I'd use AIO after polishing out any defects and then go with SG.
