Which polish for medium swirls? SSR2.5 or IP

I have a decent amount of swirls on my black FX. I just bought a PC w the Sonus SFX 1,2,3 pads and am wondering which would do the best taking the swirls out: IP or SSR2.5? Also, are the LC pads a big upgrade from the SFX pads, because I am really tempted to order some.

Oh and I also plan on detailing a few cars for my friends and family and am wondering which product you guys would buy that would be the most efficient for removing swirls.

Thanks

Nick

IMHO pads are pads, the material they are made of is all the same. My preference for polishes are the menzerna stuff. The IP and FPII make a nice 1 2 combo. The SSR's work nice too but I have always liked the look of menzerna more.

IMO, the SFX pads work better with Menzerna. Pads are not pads...some are made from different types of foam, not just different quality. The SFX pads are made from prepolymer foam which works best with water-based poishes like Menzerna. Most LC pads (which, BTW, are excellent) are made from reticulated polyester urethane foam which work best with petroleum-based polishes. I use both types with different polishes, and both are superb.

I find SSR2.5 has a similar cut to IP, but IP leaves a better finish. And I haven't found a better finishing polish than Menzerna FPII (Micropolish).

k I just put in my order for some Menzerna IP 32oz. Anybody ever order from properautocare.com?

Yup...

I've been to their office/warehouse here in Tampa.

Well stocked, clean, and organized.

Knowledgeable assistance that never “tried to sell me product A or B, yet offered specific information and opinions on each product they carry.

Their counter approach to the over-marketing of car care products is in line with the purpose of this board.

Someone at Properautocare has used, or does use each product they offer, and they understand and accurately represent each product’s strengths and weaknesses.

They are OK by me.
