which glaze and when

hey guys, was just wondering when, if, and what type of glaze I should be using, I have optimum compound, follow it up with the optimum polish, and then I move straight to the Poorboys EX with caranuba, then a coat of nattys blue, I was just wondering, where does the glaze fit into this process? should I be using it? will it make that much of a difference? and if so, what type of glaze would you recommend for this product combo, thanks!

Glaze doesn;t fit in your scenario, usually as there are exceptions.

Bondign issues with sealants and glazes. If oyu are using a glaze, it owuld go right before the sealer, EXP usually takes pretty good to some glazes, Clearkotes VM and RMG coem to mind. I have been using Chemical Guys glazes and variosu selaants lately with no problems.

If oyu do not have a glaze, let me suggest the Vanilla Moose or Red Machine Glaze, or Wolfgang isone i have been using and having hreat luck with, however the WG is not so much a pure type glaze.

Glaze adds wetness btw.

any problems with 4Star UPP bonding after RMG? I'm thinking about adding that to the process after the polishing also.

so you apply the glaze before the sealent? by bonding issues do you mean that the EX might streak, not dry poperly or something of that matter?

By issues, it generally means streaking or durability.

Yes, glaze before sealant, the bonding come sinto play because most glazes are pretty oily or wet, thus the sealer might not take properly.

does any one know if i can top rmg with klasse sg? i'm looking to get the fillers in rmg to last as long as possible.

thanks,

Pete

As far as I know, Glazes should only be used on fresh paint where Wax and Sealants can't. Thats just what I've heard and believe :)

Or to cover up fine swirls, but if you're polishing them out with OC anyway, I don't think it's needed :getdown

The term Glaze is starting to be used loosely..originally they we oily, would cover defects, appear wet and not last long...A true glaze "probably" should never be used under a sealant but typically would be under a wax......show cars would just go glaze....except for the Pledge people.

Now other types of Glazes are appearing...Menz and XMT for example.

Best bet is to research AND go from others experiences..ie trail and error.

the best glaze with protection that I have used out of the 1000 dollars that I spent in the past 4 months testing products is the fk1 217 (used to be fk1 185). It leaves a shine so amazing and also protects all in one. The protection is also amazing as the water beads off. The xmt glaze is also another good one too.
