Well, here is what it looks like right now. I think I'll check it out for a week or so and then take it off if I still don't feel it.

Like you guys said, it would probably look good elsewhere too if I wanted to put it somewhere else. I found a 20% discount code on a PT Cruiser forum when I bought the letters, so I actually got a pretty good deal on them. It wasn't an expensive lesson to have learned. :)

I like that positioning a lot. I think it looks a lot better as opposed to being on the same side under/above the other emblem. gives it a nice touch that others won't have :up

A "boxer" engine is a flat configuration and has nothing to do with the number of cylinders. Boxer engines also continue to utilize pistons and cylinders with the cylinders positioned horizontally as opposed to vertically (in v and inline designs). A boxer engine is essentially the same as any v6, v8, inline 4, etc. just with a horizontal position of the cylinders. It is not a cross between a 4 cylinder and a rotary.

Some of the advantages of a âہ“flatâ€Â design is a much lower center of gravity with the engine when compared to a âہ“Vâ€Â or inline design. Usually the flat design allows for lower mounting of the engine in the chassis resulting in even better center of gravity figures for handling purposes. Additionally on some configurations the flat configuration has better harmonics and better balanced than in traditional âہ“Vâ€Â designs.

Oops . . . I didn't mean to imply that all boxers are flat four cylinder engines, only that the the graphic happenend to be of a four-cyl version. Sorry if I added any confusion.

bet993's description is right on: It's a plain ol' four-cycle engine, but the pistons are horizontally opposed.

the engine is a boxer engine ( ie flat four is squarish - shaped like a box )

Oh I see, I actually thought it was "boxter", that Subaru had partnered with Porsche or something. So the "boxer" nickname was created because the pistons fire sideways instead of up and down? Interesting.

Anyway, I voted for left side, because I think it'll still look clean but provides symmetry. On the right would be too much on that side.

I'll third that motion. Stock or no badges, no dealer stickers or plate frames advertising where I bought the car. I paid for the car, I don't need to advertise for them. I like the clean look and less to clean when I'm detailing.

Just my .02 cents.
