where to clay??

My cars in very good Paint shape, i just want to clay the hood, roof and deck lid, where containments lye, because it feels a little gritty, i do keep the car waxed every 3 months and was wondering is it really necessary to clay the side panels also?? as long as the paint is smooth and waxed? also after claying is it necessary to use a polish before waxing?? I use NXT GENERATION by megiures, A really great wax........

THANKS.......

Paint should be clayed at least yearly. I do it every treatment, which is about every 6 weeks or so. NXT isn't a wax, so every 3 months is probably okay.

If you are talking about NXT Tech Wax, it isn't a wax (as advertised) but a Polymer Sealant. For a product available in just about every auto store or hardware store, it is longlasting.

If you're going to do most of the large panels why not spend the extra 5 mins. to do the rest....It only takes me about 20-30mins max to do the whole car (cavalier). Just a thought.

patches, I have been using NXT tech wax on my black truck and it looked great, however i wanted a little more liquid / depth so I decided to top it with a over the counter carnuba wax. For over the counter i have used Turtle Wax Premium Ultra Gloss paste and it works great and is available everywhere! On a little higher end I use Natty's or Natty's Blue (use blue on darker colors). :goodluck:

thanks...... i have a new can of 3M PERFECT IT SHOW CAR PASTE WAX my daughter bought me for my birthday.........

guess thats as good as any.........

And better than lots of the stuff out there.
Mixed opinions on the durability, but it sure does look good.

I've used quite a few 3M products not the paste wax, but everything that I have used has been real good...The Nattys is also quite good I'm on my second tin and will not replace it until something better comes along
