Where do you get power from if location is not allowed?

I am thinking to start a mobil detail business in my area. How do you power up your equipnment such as PC 7335, P9227C rotary buffer, steam cleaner and possible some working lights. Don't really want to spend too much money. Heard 600 Watt Power Inverter for $100 may do the work but concern about performance and number of continous running time with 12v battery from my car.

a 600 Watt Power inverter will not work well. You will be able to run the PC at a low speed and that's about it. It will not run a vacuum or extractor.

I got a generator from Sams club for about $500 and it works great. Can run whatever I want and have had no problems.

You are located in the Mobile Detail capital of the world. Check out the competion. You can pick up a generator at Home Depot, Lowes, Costco and Sams.

Good Luck

Either get a generator or use your customer's power. Frankly, most homeowners would prefer you use their plug rather than fire up a generator for a few hours. It can be a problem at office complexes though so if you regularly detail at them you should invest in a generator.

A generator is the way to go when you can't use your clients power. Remember though that most electrical appliances need more than their rated current draw to get them started, so make sure you invest in one that's powerful enough.

For example, an electric pressure washer that's rated at 3.0kW will actually require 5-5.5kW to start.

so..... I've been checking out the power invertors, simply because of their convience as compared to a generator...

Anyone know what size will work? And what the effect to a car battery would be???

I mean think about it... They're the perfect source of power, if it's feasible...

You would be looking for a power inverter in the 3000 to 4000 watts range, you would be better off gettiing a generator. drawing that much power you would still have to run your car or truck to keep your batteries charged.

Hmmm.. Why all the different information..

If you search, there's also a wealth of information about people using different size inverters, but the information is all scattered there too...

Does anyone have any real information, or are we all just guessing?

Actually, how's about we just kill all of the questions.. If someone could give me all of the information on how much power the PC requires to run at full speed correctly, I'll start emailing the manufacturers to see if it's actually possible..

We use generators. Most clients like the fact you have your own power rather then need to plug into theres.

Sorry for not respond faster because I was out of town.

Thanks for the infomation.

I will look into the machine and see how big it is at local hardware store.
