Where can I buy this?

Does anyone know where I can buy the plastic sheet carpet protectors that dealers and auto shops use?

My wife's new 07 Volvo S40 is horrible with how close carpet sections are to feet. No matter how hard you try to keep your feet on the floor mats, you "will" accidentally bump against the carpet.

I got her the Volvo rubber floor mats, but I would like to cover the carpet thats close by. She wanted a lighter interior, so I have to constantly worry about it :grrr

Any idea where to get these?

The only ones I've seen are sold by the roll (hundreds).

You might try going to a dealership and seeing if they have some and get one from them.

If you just want some plastic down, you could try a plastic drop cloth ($1.00 at dollar stores) and cut it to fit.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

There's some on this page Detail Plus Shopping Cart - Detailing Supplies and also here Plastic Carpet Covering but you have to buy quite a number. My local detail supply shop sells them one at a time if you want to buy them that way. You might ask the dealer if he will give/sell you a few.

Are you saying that you want to keep the plastic on the carpet all the time so it doesn't get dirty? Or just for the winter? As much as I feel for you, keeping the plastic on all the time is kind of saving the car for the next owner...kind of like having a cool car and never driving it for fear of messing it up....and then selling it and the next guy gets to enjoy it since you kept it in such great shape. There is a blurry line somewhere between leveraging your OCD (which all of us here have to some extent) to keep your car nice, and going mental about it! BTW, I have light colored carpet mats...and also the rubber mats...it's always an argument with myself which I should be using...

Have you checked into Highland liners? I have them in my Jeep along with my moms Jeep and they are great.

The gray was a tick to light but its not as bad as the flash on the camera made it look.

They match alittle better now they they have weathered some.

I recently moved and picked up a roll of the clear plastic stuff so that I did not have to take off the shoes while moving furniture in. I got it a uhaul, think it was 20 bucks a roll. It is clear plastic with an adhesive side like what ZimRandy mentioned.

Be careful with that stuff. The last time my family moved the movers layed that stuff on the stairs and a path into the main rooms to save the carpet from all the traffic. What they didn't care about was that after they pulled it up it left a stickey residue that collected all the dirt. Never did get the carpets fully clean...

Those look like a knock off of the WeatherTech Liners. They are probably a bit cheaper than the WT, either way, The WT are awesome if you want to save your carpet!

Haha, my bad, those are actually the weather-techs.

I have the highland liners in my Jeep and they do not fit as nice, so we got the weather techs for hers and they fit perfect.

We use the Husky Liners in the wife's Z71. They work very well, especially in the winter for the snow melting and all the salt and sand.

It does take a little getting used to at first having to lift your feet over the lip.
