Steering wheels are gross if you dont clean them often... All the germs ugh.. Boogers.... Who knows what else. Here is how I clean them

Supplies-
Cheapy MF towel
Little paint brush
Some APC that is properly diluted for interiors. The one I use is 1:30
Q-tips
A credit card or plastic card of some sort
Compressed air if you have it, or some really powerful lungs
An IPA wipe, little prepacked one you can get them at CVS or Walgreens cheap

It's not to suppose to look that shiney that is years of build up. On steering wheels I always start with the buttons.

Spraying a very little amount of APC on the little brush scrub the buttons making sure to get in the cracks and remove the dead skin or whatever else might be there

If you have compressed air blow it out at this point. If not you can remove extra APC with a Q-tip and those powerful lungs :D. Repeat this process for all the buttons and make sure to look if there any on the back side of the wheel as these are easily over looked.

The wheel its self is pretty straight foward spray with APC scrub with MF towel and make sure you get behind the grip to and you end up with this! Now using your little IPA packet wipe I do a quick wipe down around the whole wheel before using a conditioner.

Now on to the blinker/wiper controls. Using Apc on the brush it's self again scrub them and dont for get inside the steering wheel where they meet the colum. This is another easily over looked place but ofter is really gross.

Handled! Enjoy a clean steering wheel!

Personally, every time I clean the interior......but that Jeep is just gross! Who owns that Jeep a proctologist?

Thanks Jsmooth!

I always put a steering wheel cover on my own steering wheels, even if new.

Lexol leather cleaner is also a nice safe effective cleaner for steering wheels.

I clean mine pretty often. Now that my brother has been using my truck I clean it once every 2 weeks.

Every time I full detail the interior which is about 2 to 3 months. I even bought a bottle of Lexol leather cleaner/conditioner AIO just to do the steering wheel and the strip of leather across the dashboard. The bottle should last about 7 to 8 years or about as long as I will have the car. :lol2:
