When to use a PC 7424?

Hi,

I'm buying a PC7424 and either some Klasse or Wolfgang products.

Can I use my PC to apply AND remove the following:

Klasse All-in-One
Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze

Wolfgang Finishing Glaze
Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

Trying to decide which of the two choices to use on new red paint on a GTI and a new Forester (white)

Since it will be my first time using the PC, can it ne used for application as well as removel of these products? I'm old and want to minimize the hand-buffing.

Thanks

You could definately use it to apply all of the products you mentioned. I would reserve removal for microfiber towels though. If you are trying to minimize, I'd go with the Klasse combo. It will keep your finish looking really good with a lot less work.

Thanks, AB-----I forgot to mention I may use the 3M Finesse-It first.

What about removal of these products---you're saying a MF towel, but what if I use a MF or TERRY bonnet with the PC.....are you saying it may not work well?

I'm just saying that a plush microfiber towel will reduce the chances of scratching or swirling your newly polished finish. I've never used any of the bonnets, but I've always had great results with the MF towels. Detailing is all about what works for you. That's what makes it a great hobby/job/life.

I'm old too :howdy but I prefer to remove products with a microfiber towel by hand, because that's the way I've always done it and I find it relaxing as long as I take my time. Many people use the PC to apply and remove products and they claim they can get a thinner, more even application that way, and can remove it with a lot less effort. As Audiboy said "it's all about whatever works best For YOU". Some like to use a microfiber towel with the PC for product removal by just putting a foam pad on the PC and setting it on the towel and let the PC do the work. The towel will stick to the foam pad pretty well.

Good suggestion, Pogo. I'll try both ways and see what works best for me. Maybe the towel/PC combo, too.

Thanks

I'm a "young" 63. I use a pc to apply all of the products that I use. I almost always remove them by hand with a microfiber polishing cloth. If I have a product that is really difficult to remove I'll use a microfiber bonnet over a pad on the pc.

I tend to be very fond of Meguiars products. Meguiar's ColorX applied with a pc is a good "old guy's" product. It's a fairly durable one-step cleaner/wax that has some abrasives in it. It's readily available at auto stores. It can be topped with a sealant (NXT) or a pure wax (Meguiars #16 or #26) or just left as it is.

When I get really serious (and ambitious) I have almost all of Meguiars professional line of products. There is something for every possible detailing/waxing need in this line.

Fortunately, I lived fast but I didn't die young. I'm not all that sure of whether my corpse will be "butt ugly" or not. Come to think of it, I'll never know for sure what my corpse will look like. :D

Thanks, Tom. I ordered my PC, pads and products today. I'll just take it easy if the PC gets too heavy or I get tired. After all, I'm doing this for enjoyment, not a living.

I've gone with the Klasse line for my own cars to go this route:
1-3m finesse-it if I need to strip wax and get a clean surface
2-Klasse AIO
3-Klasse Hi-Gloss Sealant Glaze-probably 2 coats

Bought some PoorBoy QD stuff as well.
