Wheel Sealant questions?

I was curious as to whether Poorboys Wheel Sealant is affected by using the Black Wheel ShMitt. Does washing with the ScMitt affect the sealant? What about using wheel cleaners such as Eagle wheel cleaner? I usually spray some on and clean with a sponge but I am looking at getting the black scmitt and I already have the wheel sealant but have not used it yet so I was just curious as to how the wheel sealant stands up to cleanings and when it should be reapplied. Thanks for the help and insight!

Honestly, after using the Wheel Sealant, you shouldn't need any harsh chemical cleaners. I keep my wheels sealed year round and soap and water does the trick for every wash.

Cool. Thanks for the input. My only problem would be when I clean my tires, I might get some of the cleaner on the wheels (especially when rinsing or spraying it on). So do I just need to be more careful or does the wheel sealant stand up to that well too.

So how often do you guys usally reapply the wheel sealant if you just use soap and water on them?

I havent tried it with any other product except for PB APC and it dident affect the wheel sealent, plus it cleans the tires great.

I used to use Meguiar's NXT tire cleaner on my tires, then once I started using PB wheel sealant, I started to use Meguiar's APC+ on the tires, and it seemed to clean the tires much better than the tire cleaner, and doesn't effect the wheel sealant.

This is some good advice!!

I really don't even use any aggressive cleaners on the tires either. I just use a tire brush and soap and water. It's amazing what that little combo can clean.

I try to get 3 coats of sealant on the wheels every 3 months. It holds up really well.

Any thoughts on using a spray sealant on wheels such as Wolfgang's Spritz spray sealant?

I find it to be a lot less work than the paste style sealers and find that the results are similar.

Anyone else?

The only thing working against that is heat. Wheels tend to get hot from the brakes from normal driving. Wheel Sealant is specially formulated for these conditions and other spray sealants probably aren't. If you apply the spray every week or so... you'll be fine but for long durabilty... can't beat the wheel sealant.
