Wheel Process Help

I feel like i've got this detailing thing down pretty good, but I still don't have a process that I find great for the wheels. I do an ONR bucket wash in my garage. For the wheels I spray the wheels with a garden sprayer that's filled with ONR. From there I take a disposable cloth and wipe away the dirt and grime. I then followup with another disposable cloth to dry and get any leftover dirt. This process works okay but I feel like the wheels never get really really clean. From what I've read on the board most people don't like to use brushes for fear of scratches. It also seems most people don't use a specific wheel cleaner, they only use ONR. What can people reccomend to help my process?

thanks for your help.

Sorry, I meant to mention that I have tried using Zaino Z5 and Zaino CS recently. The ONR doesn't do anything to the wheels when I spray it on. The car is an 07 911.

Why dont you wash them as if you were washing the car itself. I use a wash mitt and clean my wheels with whatever I am using for the body of the car. Clean soapy water for each though.

what is the "disposable cloth"

is it smooth or does it have some bite?

I would try an old MF or terry cloth

and see if that helps

The disposable cloth is pretty smooth. For the people that recommend using an MF or wash mitt, do you guys wash these when your done? Does a washer remove brake dust out of a wash mitt or MF?

I wash them first outside with some APC before the ever see my washer

then wash them in the washer

it gets almost all of it out but they will not be perfect

With a conventional wash my process is as follows.

Pre treat with ONR.

Take Meg's Wheel Spoke brush (has been sitting in car wash soap) and scrub in between spokes.

Take Meg's Wheel Face brush (has bbeen sitting in car wash soap) and lightly brush the wheel face.

Take Meg's Tire brush filled with soapy water and scrub the tire. Rinse

I found this to be a good method. It usually takes me 5-10 minutes per wheel on a dirty BMW wheel.
