One of my friends asked me the other day to polish up his Bogart wheels and he gave them to me last night and today I used Eagle one "nevr dull" and it didn't seem to make much of a difference. There are water spots or something on them they won't come out. I put the polish on them twice and nothing happened.. here are pics.. maybe you guys can help me out here.. I'm clueless

you might want to try Mother's Powerball foam polish ball + some good metal polish like Wenol, Simichrome. You will need to work those spots (could be a chemical etching). When you are satisfied with the results, apply some Mother's Billet Creme or the new NXT Metal Polish from Meguiar's.

The powerball is a nice product for those wheels. Or, you could use a series of cotton buffing wheels and polish.

yeah, I don't know if I want to spend much money on this.. its just for a friend. I'll talk to him and see what he wants to do. thanks for the help guys. where do i get the powerball thing you speak of?

Are they aluminum? Clear coated? Chrome?

The finish will determine your repair process.

They appear to be clear coated but had some form of acid, perhaps HF acid, used on them in the past which has clouded them, perhaps caused pitting.

The pitting is most likely beyond repair but you might be able to bring a better shine to the wheels.

Claying them won't do nothing so no need to bother with that. A PC is usually too large, unless you can adapt a 3 inch backing plate on it? Get a drill and place a 3 inch plate on it and some 3 inch wool and foam pads and depending on the finish, use the proper leveling/cleaning agent and set aside a good part of the day to polish them out.

You might want to check the major auto stores: they are starting to discount that product (just my luck..I ordered mine mail order at the list price). I'd check around at Auto Zone, Advance Auto, etc by phone first. I think someone posted the discount price at a store here on Autopia...so you might want to search the threads first.

I actually found the powerball at a local store.. I think I'll pick that up sometime, is the new power polish by mothers any good?

Those appear to be polished with a clear coat (look at 5 o'clock in the photos and you can see cc failure).

Metal polishes, a PB, etc. aren't going to touch them. It's been said on here many times before, but to tell if your wheels are clearcoated, try a tiny amount of metal polish on a clean rag. If the rag turns black, they are not cc'd. If the rag does not get dirty at all, they are cc'd, and treat them like you would paint.
