Wheel Cleaning and ONR?

I'm going to purchase some ONR. I also plan to purchase a bug sprayer so I can pre-treat some of the dirtier panels. My question is when it comes to cleaning the wheels? Should I just pre-treat the wheels with ONR and then wipe clean or would it be better to spray some Griots Wheel cleaner on and then rinse the wheels with water that would be in a second bug sprayer? Also, what do people use to dry their wheels when their done?

Thanks

I just use the ONR for the wheels. I don't even use a wheel cleaner. It seems like it just melts the brake dust away. I then dry with a microfiber.

Well, what I would do is after the car is completely done with an ONR wash, I would use the left over wash water and dip a Megs Wheel Face Brush and clean, after spraying the wheel with ONR QD strength. The Megs Wheel Spoke Brush works great for the crevices and getting behind the wheel face. I would then dry with a dedicated MF.

Not to thread-jack, but what about the tires? How do you get greasy kid stuff or browning off the tires when using a rinseless wash? Or do you use something harsher on the tires and then "rinse" it with the rinsless?

I do wheels, tires, and fenderwells with one bucket and then the rest of the vehicle with another bucket. The ONR will work fine too for tires.

ONR is very low foaming/sudsing so just spraying the tires with ONR at QD strength (or regular strength) on the tires will be sufficient for cleaning. Then you can scrub with a tire brush.

I'm talking about tires that have browned or have a buildup of dressing. This requires more than a regular wash (I normally just scrub with car wash for "regular" dirt), unless ONR has some special rubber cleaning properties.

Browned and dressing saturated tires will probably requires an APC and scrubbed in good with a tire brush.

Um...I know that...how are folks doing that in a rinseless wash regimen where you can't rinse the APC off

Setec is correct. I am contending with this same issue and am having troubled with browned tires. The ONR doesn't clean it off, neither did QEW mixed at 150%. So, the rest of the car and wheels look very good. The rear tires, however, are browned out :(

Same here. Wash 1 towel and dry 1 towel, with dedicated MF towels. I use Meguiar's HoT Shine for the tires. Just spray and walk away!

I am currently trying to implement ONR in my daily routine. For very clean cars it will work just fine. For more dirty cars, I am going to spray APC on the wheels, tires, wells, all lower panels, and the bumper covers. I will rinse well with my PW, and then proceed to ONR wash the car. I think it will still save time, water, and hopefully money.
