Wheel Cleaner in the engine bay?

What's up fellas?

I just got back inside after fooling around with my project 240sx for a while, and figured I'd ask. Is wheel cleaner alright to use in the engine bay?

I had been using foaming citris engine degreaser, straight brake cleaner, quick detailing sprays, and a bunch of scrubbing, which took a long time, and alas, I ran out of products. I happened to find a bottle of armoral wheel cleaner and decided to give it a try -- the sludge came right off, with hardly any scrubbing at all. I was very pleased, but just want to make sure this is safe to do. If it is, I don't think I'll use regular degreaser again, this worked great.

Thanks,

Lou

At most self service car washes the engine cleaner and the tire/wheel cleaner are the same chomical. That stuff is made to take off grime with ease.

I figured that, kinda wanted an excuse to post on autopia.org again lol. I miss this place. Thanks for the reply.

On another note, armorall wheel cleaner was amazing at getting the grime off with a fraction of the amount of work I had to do when using the above listed products. Didn't think it would be better than brake cleaner, but it was.

I can envision using FK1's excellent wheel cleaner in the engine bay. I suspect it would do very well.

My friend just showed me his block and tranny case after using meg's hotrims on his 95 accord and it looks brand new. I think i'm gona try it this weekend on my show car.
