Wheel Cleaner - Haze Problem

It seems like no matter which wheel cleaner I use, I always develop some type of haze on my wheels (these are factory wheels of a 2001 Lincoln LS). I follow the products directions as closely as possible (I never let the product dry on the wheel and I dry with a towel as soon as I rinse) but there's always a haze that appears. What are some of the best wheel cleaners that will help me avoid these problems??? Thanx.



BTW...I have used Eagle One A2Z and Gliptone.
 
No...It was a regular cotton towel. Maybe that's the problem. I have also used an Absorber to dry my wheels.
 
Try flooding the rims with water to get any left over residue, just when you think that you are done rinse some more.

Have you tried using car wash soap?
 
I don't encounter any problems with hazing when I use regular car wash soap...but I notice that concentrated wheel cleaners, like Eage One A2Z, do a much better job of removing brake dust.
 
If it's happening pretty regularly, that would be obnoxious.



Try:



The MF route along with some EO Wax-As-You-Dry.

or

The A2Z followed by a good shampooing.

or

The above, followed by a coat of a durable sealant (Meg's #20 works pretty well for an OTC, Klasse is the king from online). Thereafter, wash with shampoo and reapply the sealant every 3-4 washes. The sealant will allow the shampoo to remove the brake dust easily.

I used S100 gel wheel cleaner and Detailer's Pride gel wheel cleaner on my '01 Lincoln LS. Both work well at cleaning the wheels and are very gentle. Detailer's Pride cleaner leaves the wheel brighter looking than the S100 so I prefer it. No hazing encountered on both. Be generous with the rinsing water.
 
Imo, once u use a wheel cleaner, I would just polish and seal the rims and do future cleanings with car wash and soap. It does the job if your washing every week.
 
I always use A2Z, only on cold wheels, that may make a difference, rinse like crazy, then wash with what ever detergent you use on the rest of the car, then dry w/mf.
 
Some alloy wheels and coated ones look as though there is a film after drying. Some even have water spots that you swear were not there prior to washing. Use a one-step paint cleaner safe for clear coats. I have a Flitz Ball on order and can't wait to try that out. I had two cars in the last week with the same description as above. I applied a paint cleaner/polish by hand and they looked nice and clear when done. I don't think your problem is brake dust, it's that film you talked about.



On another board, a detailer mentioned the same exact situation and it was solved One Step from DetailPlus.
