What's Up With These New Meg's Yellow Foam Applicators

Wasatch

Went to use one today, (only the third time). I sprayed some QD on it to prep, and the damn thing started to crumble in my hand. Piece of junk. Anyone else have this happen to them?

I just bought a bunch of these a month ago, no problems with mine.. Call Meguiars Customer Service Monday.. They'll make it right.

I seriously doubt it would have taken much more effort to call Meguiars and let them make it right for you than it took to start this thread :nixweiss

I've got Meguiars foam hand pads that are more than a year old and have been washed dozens of times and they still look fine. You must have got a bad batch or something.

Yeah I would have to agree. I buy them by all the time from Pep Boys and they clean up well and last longer than some others I had.

If you just got 'em and have the sales receipt just take them back to the store.

I also have some old foam pads that came with the gold class wax and even after couple months use, still looks fine and nowhere near falling apart.

What were you using the pad for previously? Just waxing or what?

They probably have been sitting in the store awhile. I don't have the reciept anymore. I was applying Werkstatt's AJ with it. I have a few other's that never had a problem with.

That's what I was thinking, maybe even on a shelf in direct sunlight that led to UV deterioration.

Ive never had problems with the yellow foam pads, but my white Gold class applicators tore on the sides.. Im thinking about taking some pics and starting a thread on MOL to see if they will replace them. I really like those little guys and was disappointed when they tore. Do you need a receipt to get them replaced? I bought them at Advance auto..

I agree. They will ship you some new ones ASAP. They have done me right several times when I had problems. They are No.1 in Customer Service IMO.

Are you talking about the Even Coat applicators? I used a brand new one last week, and it came apart at the seam by the time I was done using it while waxing my car. I wash it out, and was just going to sew it back together when I had the chance. Maybe I'll call up Meg's and see what they have to say about it...

I love the Even Coat applicators, though. Very easy to hold for extended periods of time. I have a bunch of yellow foam Gold Class ones as well, but find the circular shape makes my hand cramp up after awhile. I've washed those, and they're holding up just fine.
