what's the first product to use on oxidized paint without lots of pads?

If the car is medium to highly oxidized, someone on the forums wrote to using AIO as a first step makes it easy to get the oxidation off without messing up lots of pads.

Have you foudn that as well?

What's a good plan to get the oxidation off without going through lots of pads?

One thing to consider is using a chemical paint cleaner (such as AIO) and use terry towels to do the first oxidation removal by hand. Then go over the car via machine. This would get rid of the bulk of the oxidation without going through lots of pads. (Is more work, though.)
